Like most little girls, I enjoyed dressing up in my Mom’s clothes and strutting around the house in high heels like the runway models I saw on television. As I grew older, it became clear to me that there was more to my love of dress-up than just ‘make believe.’
My father enrolled me in modeling school when I was 14 and I continued modeling for several years. There was something about the thrill of the runway that intrigued me. But after several years in the business I had an epiphany. I realized my true love was for the fashion itself.
I entered college at the Illinois Institute of Art – Chicago to study the art and business of fashion. My passion quickly grew into a studied talent, and though I was devoted to my education, I was still unsure of how to turn fashion into a career. One day, I came across an article about fashion styling, and the answer seemed to leap off the page. I had known I was prepared to do the job, but it was at that moment I discovered my job title.
While still finishing my degree, I began working to further develop my skills with an internship at a local bridal salon and started my own image consulting company, which fed my drive to help others and continue building my skills in fashion. Helping men and women build their self-esteem through a wardborbe touch-up or full makeover was incredible! My love of working with bridal gowns continued, so I began working in other bridal salons to gain experience and focus my career aspirations in that category.
In my years working bridal shows, planning events, image consulting and working in bridal boutiques, I have heard countless stories of women driving from shop to shop, frustrated and lost. It became clear to me that people need talented guidance and I feel strongly my destiny is to show them there’s so much more to consider than the price tag. I have learned to address fit, color, style, to help make the perfect choice for each individual.
Currently, I am the owner of The Altar Bridal in Centennial, Head Fashion Stylist at Novelty Bride Magazine and continue to style wedding photoshoots throughout Colorado. I have been planning events of all types for over 10 years and am the owner of Lola Events Group as well. My love for the west led me to Denver where I happily now call home. My knowledge, experience, and unbridled passion lead me to were I am today and I couldn't be more excited about what's next to come!
I believe everyone deserves to work with a professional that has the talent, skill, and passion of a dreamer living her dreams.
